With a focus on student success and engagement, I create a positive learning environment in the classroom. I use a variety of teaching methods and approaches to address the learning needs of a diverse student population. Participants are encouraged to be highly involved in an energetic and upbeat learning experience.
CONTENT
My courses are taught with current, up-to-the-minute content that interactively engages students with fashion industry concepts and helps them develop professional skills. Students are equipped with a solid foundation for the workplace and the next steps in their careers through experiential activities and projects, innovative leading-edge examples and the integration of technology.
STRATEGY & PLANNING
Organization and planning are key components to my teaching strategy and success. I integrate program, course, and lesson level planning together, to highlight the big picture while breaking down material in a clear, manageable, detail-oriented manner for learning. The assignments and course deliverables I develop never loose sight of industry tasks and expectations. The various evaluation systems I create are strategically constructed to assess participant success and provide continuous support, feedback and useful takeaways throughout the term.
I believe that success and excelling in what you do, comes more naturally if you love what you do. Being passionate about teaching and learning drives me to become the very best I can be. I incorporate this idea into my teaching style as my favourite learning environments have always been positive and fun. I aim to keep a positive, supportive, and upbeat attitude toward my students. If students can enjoy the learning experience I help create, their engagement and success will be elevated. As a Professor, I recognize that there are many styles of learning, so in the classroom we continue to mix up the formula. I aim to take different approaches and activities throughout each class we have together. I also like to integrate an element of surprise, so students are keen to know what we are going to do next!
